Typically, most routers/DHCP servers can provide/support for up to 254 devices, depending on the product and the firmware. However, it is good to keep in mind that each computer added to the network will reduce the bandwidth available to the already computers/devices.

Hi, I am totally ignorant to these things so my apologies. I have Verizon dsl service and a GT784WNV. I seem to be limited to the number of devices i have on my system-i have a few cameras, firestix, alexas, couple of computers, a couple of phones, and it doesnt seem to allow me to add more-I have to log out of some things to add others. I see above you say there is support for up to 254 devices. Does that apply for this unit, and how can i add more devices(i wanted to add more camera and stuff)? thanks
and let me add=no way is there 254 devices-maybe like 13?
Julie,
It is correct, the DHCP server in the DSL modem supports up to 254 devices on the local network. If you have 13 devices on your local network and your internet speed is 5 Mbps you are splitting that 5 Mbps by 13 which means each device is getting 0.38 Mbps.
We have not been advised that Verizon limits how many devices can be on the local network.
For all support on that unit you will need to contact Verizon support at 800-567-6789
